About
Ana Ospina, University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry
Ospina is bridging the language barrier at the School of Dentistry between the students and staff and the Spanish-speaking patients. She is partnering with the student chapter of the Hispanic Dental Association to develop and introduce a dental Spanish curriculum that will teach students to communicate effectively with their patients. In addition, she is working to translate patient documents into Spanish so Spanish-speaking patients have access to documentation that they can read and understand.
