About
NOW REGISTERING VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR. We are no longer accepting new volunteers for the 2021-2022 school year.
Reading Partners volunteers commit to tutoring about an hour per week for the duration of the school year, either in-person at one of our partner school locations or virtually using the Reading Partners Connects platform. All volunteers will attend a tutor orientation prior to being matched with a student in our program. Please Sign up here to take your next step to becoming a Reading Partner.
Reading Partners believes that our communities do better when all students have access to high-quality learning opportunities. By providing one-on-one, individualized reading support to students who’ve been most impacted by systemic barriers, Reading Partners seeks to disrupt educational inequity and create a brighter future where all students have the critical reading skills needed to prepare them for academic, social, and civic success.
Volunteer for just over an hour per week to empower a student through reading. Reading Partners is seeking volunteer tutors to work one-on-one with students using our research-validated curriculum, either in-person or online. Volunteers are paired with one student to meet weekly at a partner school location or virtually over our Reading Partners Connects platform (see our partner school locations on our website here).
No teaching experience required and anyone over the age of 14, residing in an area proximal to Tulsa, can volunteer. Flexible volunteer times on Monday-Thursday between 8am and 3pm at various school sites. We provide volunteers with a structured curriculum, training, and ongoing support to help you and your student succeed.
Our students will inspire you! Rigorous research has proven that Reading Partners’ students significantly increase their reading proficiency while in the program. In fact, in 2019, 85% of all Reading Partners students met or exceeded their primary end-of-year growth goals.
