Learning League Seeks Tutoring Corps Members (PAID opportunity)

Gary Community Ventures is partnering with our community to reshape the arc of opportunity for Colorado kids and families. We’re launching the Learning Engagement, Acceleration, and Recovery Now (‘LEARN’) Initiative to support the academic and social-emotional recovery of Colorado K-12 students from the COVID-19 pandemic.

To bring the LEARN Initiative to life, we’re looking for Learning League Tutoring Corps Members who will dedicate a semester of service to tutoring in high need communities (no previous experience or certifications needed). Members of the Learning League will host regular tutoring sessions, in person or virtually, with small groups of students and help them improve either their elementary literacy or middle school math skills. All Members will receive comprehensive training, competitive wages ($15-25/hour), robust professional development experiences, and opportunities to network with national leaders in the education space.

Why join the Learning League Tutoring Corps?

The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a tremendous challenge to educators, students, and families that resulted in significant ‘unfinished learning’ for students. And, while this is true for all students, those from low-income neighborhoods and households of color were particularly impacted. By joining the Learning League team, you can help us offer free, consistent tutoring in high need communities. Together, we have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of the students who need it most.
