Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - multiple roles

Open Opportunity

About

Our program does taxes year round, but the busiest time is during the tax season (January – April). We are looking for adult volunteers who can greet taxpayers, answer questions, collect/organize paperwork, prepare taxes, or help to operate the tax site (scheduling, set up, closing). There are opportunities for everyone, but we can offer continuing education credits to the following professionals: Enrolled Agents (EAs), non-credentialed tax return preparers (AFSP), and Certified Financial Planners (CFP). Volunteers must complete training and certification, which is typically in November/December.

This is a general summary of volunteer opportunities for the public site. Please do not register for this event.

People wishing to volunteer in the Kansas City area can apply for membership to the KC Metro Tax Coalition. Once you are approved, you will see member only details about locations and dates/times you might serve. Thank you!
