The Social Media Coordinator (SMC) will lead social media campaigns for the Coalition for a Multilingual RI and maintain all of the Coalition’s social media accounts. The SMC will leverage these platforms to advocate for legislation and initiatives related to multilingual education and to increase engagement with local communities, education stakeholders and other advocates. This role will play a vital role in expanding the Coalition’s digital reach and improving communications to the public-at-large.
During the fall semester, this will entail more general outreach and movement building. During the spring semester, the focus will shift more to legislative advocacy while the General Assembly is in session.

Pitch and implement social media campaigns and strategies to boost user engagement and raise awareness on multilingual education legislation

Routinely post on social media platforms with engaging and content (at least once a week)

Create and share legislative action alerts and testimony sheets to recruit community members to testify at hearings and contact their elected officials
