RMHC House Volunteer Opportunity

Open Opportunity

At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana, volunteers help carry out our mission 365 days a year. Volunteers carry out various duties, and are usually the first face a family sees upon entering the Ronald McDonald House. Volunteers assist with things like answering the phones, giving tours, and guest check in, as well as basic housekeeping tasks like sweeping, dusting, disinfecting, etc. Some shifts also include duties like helping with meal preparation or serving a hot, buffet-style meal to our guests. In addition to these in-House duties, our volunteers also serve a special purpose by taking our Comfort Cart to the pediatric floors and interacting with patients and their families, sharing the Ronald McDonald House experience with them and inviting them to come register for services. Special event opportunities are also available throughout the year.

Volunteer hours are from 9am-9pm, and we ask incoming volunteers to commit to one weekly 3-hour shift for at least six months to a year as the school year allows. Shift breakdowns are as follows:
  • 9am-12pm
  • 12pm-3pm
  • 3pm-6pm
  • 6pm-9pm
