Internship Overview:

Students selected for the Environment of Care Student Intern Volunteer role will assist the Corporate Director in Facilities and Safety in creating and updating materials and processes related to the agency's environment. Individuals selected for this internship will apply skills acquired in school to assist with facilities management, site evaluations, and other related tasks that utilize evidence-based methods and research. Additionally, Interns in this role will work on various projects related to the students' education track and career goals while also serving as a corporate facilities resource for employees to engage throughout the internship duration. 

Interns in this position will utilize critical thinking skills, creative problem solving, and practical communication skills to research, create, update and implement projects or initiatives that align with the Corporate Facilities Services department and the student's practicum or internship course's academic requirements. 

Requirements and Additional Information:

Suitable for Students Pursuing a(n): Associates, Bachelors, or Masters

Suitable for Students Studying: Environment / Occupational Health & Sustainability or other similar degree tracks.

Location: Fayette County

Hours of Opportunity: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Monday through Friday

Requirement Details

In addition to the above requirements in the "Requirements and Additional Information" section, students selected for this position must provide the following:

  • Three Professional References
  • Official Transcript for your Current Program
  • Signed Contingent Offer Letter

Students must also complete and pass the following:

  • Background Checks
  • Drug Screening

Additionally, interns will be required to attend a one-day orientation. This orientation will fall on a Monday and is scheduled with New Vista's Human Resources department upon completion and a successful review of all required materials. Students who are missing academic obligations such as courses or mandatory meetings will be provided with an excused absence note.

Access to New Vista's Relias learning platform, with over 800 trainings ranging a wide variety of topics. Access to live New Vista hosted trainings spanning a variety of community mental health center topics. Participation in certain New Vista events such as wellness fairs. Access to the Employee Assistance Program.
