Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Buff Pantry! The Buff Pantry is the on-campus food pantry at the University of Colorado Boulder and is here to support CU Boulder students who are experiencing food insecurity.
Students are welcome to visit the Buff Pantry one time per week and will receive approximately 20 pounds of food per visit. The Buff Pantry provides shelf-stable products, fresh produce, refrigerated, frozen and personal care items at no cost to students. Food and personal care item selection will vary based on availability, donations and time of year.
Regular volunteers at the Buff Pantry are expected to commit to volunteering at least 2 hours a week, for their chosen duration of their volunteer experience. They are also expected to attend an hour-long volunteer orientation to learn the processes of the Buff Pantry. Responsibilities for volunteers in the Pantry include stocking and organizing shelves, greeting clients and giving tours of the Pantry, logging Pantry visits, and generally maintaining the space. If you are interested in volunteering at the Pantry, please fill out the registration and select the "General Buff Pantry Volunteer" Shift.
We also have some slots available for one-time volunteer opportunities. Every Friday at 9am, we receive a weekly donation from Community Food Share, our partner agency, of anywhere from 1,500 to 3,000 pounds of food. This process requires volunteers to unload the donation, organize all of the food in the Pantry, and clean the space. Volunteers are expected to arrive at 9am, and stay for the duration of the process (around 11:30am, depending on the size of the delivery). If you would like to sign-up for this, please complete registration and select the "Delivery Volunteer" shift. This opportunity will not require an orientation.
Once you complete registration, a staff member will reach out to you to coordinate next steps.
