About

Community Hospice:

Our mission is to honor life by providing Peace, Hope and Compassion to those we serve.

Veterans Volunteer Program

Community Hospice is a proud participant in the We Honor Veterans program. This is a national awareness program that focuses on strengthening partnerships and networking with other Veteran organizations to enhance care and availability of services to our Veteran population.  This opportunity offers multiple opportunities to provide social and emotional support to Veterans and their families during the Hospice journey.

  • Are you a Veteran yourself?  We Honor Veterans pairs Veteran Volunteers with Hospice patients who served in the military as part of our Direct Support Volunteer Team. Veteran Volunteers provide friendly visits to other Veterans who are on Hospice services and/or present a ceremony to honor their service. This opportunity is flexible to the Volunteer's availability but the successful Volunteer must be comfortable traveling to Columbiana County.  Training and background check are required.
  • Not a Veteran but still want to help? We honor our Veteran's with a ceremony to thank them for their service.  It is our goal to provide a gift of appreciation during that ceremony- usually a quilt, blanket, or some other patriotic themed craft or art project. Please contact us for more details.  No training is needed for this type of Volunteering.

Community Hospice volunteers are an essential part of the hospice team. Our trained volunteers provide much needed support serving our patients and families wherever they are in their journey.
