About

The EPIPHANY Study aims to gain a better understanding of how to provide a hypertension prevention program to adults living in Rural Alabama at high risk for developing high blood pressure and to look at different ways to improve program delivery. The study is recruiting approximately 23 African American men and women aged 19-years and older in 20 churches across rural Alabama to participate in a hypertension prevention program. This information will be used to create an intervention specifically for adults living in Alabama at high risk for developing high blood pressure. Health fairs will be conducted twice a month to increase participant enrollment as well as provide additional health education and screenings.

Equal Access Alabama has been recruited to provide
blood pressure measurements, assist with registration, and administer COVID vaccines at bi-monthly health fairs throughout the school year.
