About

The City of Medford's Recreation Department is looking for student-athletes to help our community residents with physical and intellectual disabilities participate in an indoor basketball program. Some participants need 1:1 assistance to maintain focus, possible hand over hand assistance and have directions repeated.  Athletes are encouraged to volunteer but all students and student athletes are welcome to volunteer as well. The sessions occur every Wednesday night from 6:00pm-7:00pm at the Medford Rec Center. All volunteers need to fill out a CORI form beforehand. This Adaptive Program introduces skills drills and some rules of the game while having positive reinforcement from staff and volunteers while having fun playing kickball. This session meets weekly Wednesday evenings beginning April 26-May 31 at Hormell stadium from 6-7pm. If you have or know anyone interested, please have them contact me directly. I have attached the Cori and Volunteer application form.

I like to have consistency for the participants having the same volunteers for all 6 weeks however I understand this is not always possible.
