Food Bank of Northeast Georgia (Athens Branch)

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia: Bringing our neighbors from hunger to health, creating a community where no neighbor experiences food-insecurity.

First-time volunteers should visit our Volunteer Page to review our regulations, requirements, GivePulse assistance, group registrations, information on minors, and more and will be required to take our "New Volunteer Survey" before signing up to volunteer. Volunteers are strongly recommended to review our Volunteer Handbook before attending events to become familiar with dress code and volunteer responsibilities at events. We cannot offer community service hours for volunteer work.

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization affiliated with Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger relief organization, which gathers purchased surplus food and donated items from local, regional, state, and national product partners. The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia offers food-assistance programs across 14 counties in the Northeast Georgia region.

As our programs are almost entirely dependent on volunteer assistance, it is vital that volunteers attend events or cancel registration for events they are not able to attend. Volunteers who are registered for an event but do not attend will be recorded as "no-show". Volunteers with multiple "no-shows" may be removed from all future signups.

If you have issues unregistering from an event, registering a group, or questions/issues regarding your GivePulse experience, please review our GivePulse FAQ Guide.

Thank you for the invite to be a part of the food bank volunteer team. I plan to be a volunteer at least once a month and more when possible/needed.
