Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program

About

The Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP) provides free legally-based advocacy services to Alabamians with disabilities to protect, promote, and expand their civil rights. For more than forty years, ADAP has worked to advance the rights of Alabamians with disabilities in community integration, education, employment, self-determination, access to healthcare, and safety.  We envision a society where persons with disabilities are valued, exercise self-determination through meaningful choices, and have equality of opportunity. Our work takes many forms including litigation, legal advocacy services, investigations, monitoring, and community outreach and training.  ADAP is affiliated with the University of Alabama School of Law.
