Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care

About

Volunteers play an extremely important role in hospice. Without them, most hospices would not be able to carry on their work.

Of the 115,000 persons involved in hospice care in America, some 95,000 are volunteers and each year they give more than 5 million hours to helping dying persons and their families.

They provide assistance at all levels of skill. Many are relatives and friends of former hospice patients who, having seen how much hospice can help, want to contribute to its good work.

As a direct patient care volunteer you would be providing the patient and/or family with emotional support and companionship. Volunteer activities with patients include watching t.v., reading, listening to music, crafts, scrapbooking, listening, talking and most of all becoming a new friend to somone who is terminally ill and in there last stages of life. Have you ever wanted to be there for someone who is alone and be able to brighten the last stage of their life?

As a volunteer you will provide care and support that is unique to each patient's needs. By doing this you can create a bond between you and the patient that is priceless. If you are looking for a rewarding volunteer oppurtunity than this is it for you! I'd love to hear from you. Volunteer's go through an 18 hour training, 8 hrs. of which can be done at home and the other 10 completed on a Sat. from 9am-7pm. A free TB test is included and you will be completely prepared to see your 1st patient. Hope to hear from you
