This pathway was started to address health inequities among globally marginalized populations through work at the local, national, and international level. The three initiatives within this pathway are Medical French, Medical Spanish, and Refugee Health.
Medical French focuses on clinician language skill development and cultural immersion in order to address the health disparities caused by the presence of language barriers in the clinical setting as well as providing clinical services for local underserved French-speaking community members. There is some opportunity for international work within this initiative.
Medical Spanish focuses on clinician language skill development and cultural immersion in order to address the health disparities caused by the presence of language barriers in the clinical setting as well as providing clinical services for local underserved Spanish-speaking community members. There is some opportunity for international work within this initiative.
Refugee Health focuses on the unique needs and health disparities faced by refugee communities by providing support through the resettlement period and clinical care for local refugee populations. There is some opportunity for international work within this initiative.
