About

Bajalia was founded in 2003 by Debbie Farah and is headquartered in Winter Park, FL. As a leader within the emerging social enterprise movement, Bajalia excels at marketing products for indigenous artisans bringing about sustainable, empowering change in their lives.

Bajalia works intimately with our production networks consulting with them regarding managing their growing enterprises, hiring and empowering more women and focusing on education, economic development and long-term sustainability.

Ms. Farah was named by Newsweek and Daily Beast in March 2011 as one of "150 Women Who Shake the World" for her work through Bajalia with artisans around the world.

Through its first retail location in Winter Park, FL, web presence and strategic distribution networks, Bajalia gives artisans opportunities to operate on a scale of production that they could not attain by themselves. Bajalias collaborative partners include US AID, FAVACA, BPeace (Business Council for Peace), Aid to Artisans, SEWA India, Export Promotion Council for Handcrafts (EPCH) in India and the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.

Mission: Bajalias mission is to alleviate poverty and empower artisans through trade, training and other forms of community development. Bajalia captures the rich cultural heritage of artisans worldwide by bringing to market timeless pieces from global entrepreneurs who are changing their world.
