About
About the Office of Economic Development: The Office of Economic Development elevates and expands Johns Hopkins’ commitment to the city by strengthening economic and neighborhood development, health care, and education. Volunteer engagement by University staff and faculty is vital in helping to achieve this mission. We rely on your talents to serve the community through the Johns Hopkins Takes Time for Baltimore program.
Johns Hopkins provides paid time off to volunteer up to 16 hours annually through our service leave policy. Spend a day painting educational murals in Baltimore City schools, restoring community parks, building community gardens, and many more opportunities.
Whether you want to help fund school uniforms for city school students through the annual Adopt-a-Student Uniform drive or, bring holiday cheer to a family in need through the Adopt-a-Family Holiday program or volunteer your assistance in some other way, the office of Economic Development’s many service, charitable, and community programs are also great place to start.
