Firas is a Muslim, Syrian-American activists pursuing a Master's in Leadership and Management at the University of La Verne. He graduated from La Verne in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Firas was one of the founders of the Muslim Students Association, and currently the president of the MSA. He has been a consistent advocate for cultural and religious diversity. More recently, Firas is co-founder and Chief of Financial Officer of American Relief Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to Syrian refugees in Southern California and helps sponsor Syrian orphans in Syria and Turkey. He is also a youth committee adviser at the Syrian American Council chapter in Los Angeles where he provides consultations in mobilizing the Syrian revolution on university campuses and among young adults.
