I enjoyed this experience and I think that the Scouts that were running it were happy to have us their to help. It was also fun to be at my old school for the first time in a while. We cleaned to school of sticks and leaves and bagged them up, putting them on the street in front of the school. we finished the entire baseball diamond and the front of the school in the three hours given and we had a very good time.
For these service hours we went around Memphis picking up trash for Clean Memphis. We went to the green way to pick up trash and we were able to pick up a bunch among the path and the trails. there is still a bunch more that needs to be done here but we were able to pick up a good amount in the time that we served. I hope to do this again as it greatly benefited the environment and other people's view while walking down the path.
I thought that my work last Saturday was really helpful and impactful. We got a bunch done even though it was raining. We decided to help wash plant tags so that the Lichterman Nature Center was able to reuse them during plant sales. They said it was really helpful and I would love to do it again.
This past weekend me and a couple of friends went to assist the workers at Lichterman nature center because there have been some invasive species. We were able to rip out a good amount of these plants and we had a good time doing so. The workers there were supper kind and even aided us with hot chocolate while working because it was very cold outside.
I really enjoyed this service opportunity and I hope to attend this again. The people here were super nice and welcoming, and the entire experience was great. being able to do something like this for the wildlife was a good feeling and you can tell that the workers of Lichterman really cared and were appreciative of the work that we were able to put in.
