About
A.L.A.S. program volunteers serve as Latino/Hispanic student advocates and nurture the professional networks of Latino/Latina/Latinx/Hispanic community members and employees of Montgomery College. ALAS is the coordinating body for A.L.M.A. (Advancing Latino Male Achievement) activities. In a county where 25% are reported as Hispanic/Latino, it is in the best interests of the college's recruitment strategy to understand and provide adequate support for the audience who will drive enrollment in the years to come, as well as provide equitable service to a population historically neglected, and oppressed, by higher education.
